After the three foresters' cottages (Robin, Wren and Nuthatch) were declared uninhabitable by the local council, and the families relocated in the area, the buildings became derelict falling into a very poor state. Over the years of decay Robin also suffered from subsidence due to the well.
After two failed planning applications, consent was final given to renovate Robin and Wren cottages into holiday lets.
A local building contractor, J & J (Gloucester) Ltd started work in January 2007.
